Tour Swiss Life is an office skyscraper located in the La Part-Dieu quarter of Lyon’s 3rd arrondissement. Completed in 1989 and designed by French architect Charles Delfante, the 82-metre tower has 20 floors and houses the Swiss Life company. It was the second tallest tower in Lyon until the completion of Tour Oxygène in 2010, and it is now the city’s fourth tallest tower. The building was originally planned to reach about 120 metres, but high-rise construction faced opposition from the City Council at the time. Tour Swiss Life is set within a ditch, with its ground floor at level -1 and access provided by a gateway. In 2009, the Mayor of Lyon, Gérard Collomb, confirmed Swiss Life’s desire to raise the tower. A new tower has also been proposed in place of the current four-storey parking garage.

The tower was originally planned to rise to about 120 metres, but the City Council opposed highrises at the time of its planning. Its present form reflects a more restrained outcome than the initial project. The building is surrounded by a ditch, with its ground floor set at level -1, and access is provided through a gateway.
Tour Swiss Life houses the Swiss Life company. In 2009, at the MIPIM exhibition, Lyon Mayor Gerard Collomb confirmed Swiss Life's desire to raise Intro. A new tower has also been proposed for the site of the current 4-storey parking garage.
